Ice Cutter Ship in Arctic

Webquest #8: Arctic Sea Ice Observer

After a summer of warming, the extent, or edge, of sea ice in the Arctic Ocean reaches a minimum each September. Arctic sea ice then gradually increases to its maximum extent in March the following year. Observe how the minimum extent of Arctic sea ice has changed since satellites began observing sea ice growth and retreat in 1978.
