The next generation

Generation Y. Born between about the mid-1970s and early 2000s, they're tech-savvy, know that a job is not forever, and are accustomed to a faster pace of life than previous generations. For them, the world is a smaller place, but it's also a changing place — demographically, economically and environmentally. Gen Y is the first generation to wake up to the reality of climate change and, like it or not, they are going to have to deal with its ramifications in the decades ahead.

But are they ready? How much do they really know about climate change? And how much do they care? Undergraduate student Holly Shaftel talked to some of her peers to find out more and shared the results with us.
